Join BIYA BIYA as we welcome a community auntie and artist to lead us in a Persian Calligraphy Workshop! Come learn the basic strokes of nastaliq – most commonly used for Persian poetry but shared across Arabic, Dari, Pashto & Urdu letters. No experience in these alphabets or nastaliq script is required, and it is open to non-native Persian speakers. The session will first start with a presentation on the general history of calligraphy across cultures. 

Then, through guided practice, participants write a message in Persian to exercise the basic strokes of lettering for calligraphy. All supplies are provided for use during the session.
