Masala Chat Oral History Project

Indo-American Heritage Museum,

The Field Museum, & Smithsonian Asian-Pacific American Center

The Indo-American Heritage Museum is currently an online exhibition of artifacts curated by the board of directors. In order to better showcase the complexity of Indian heritage and immigration, they endeavored to create a collection of oral histories. These narratives will become part of their permanent collection, as well as as well as featured at the Field Museum and the Smithsonian’s traveling exhibition, Beyond Bollywood, when it comes to Chicago in summer of 2017. As one of the Project Managers, my role was to copy-edit transcriptions, time-code, write summaries, and archive the resulting documents.

Archive and resulting materials in progress.
