Masala Chat Oral History Project

National Indo-American Museum,

The Field Museum, & Smithsonian Asian-Pacific American Center

The National Indo-American Museum is currently an online exhibition of artifacts curated by the board of directors. In order to better showcase the complexity of Indian heritage and immigration, they endeavored to create a collection of oral histories. These narratives are now part of their permanent collection and were featured at the Field Museum and the Smithsonian’s traveling exhibition, Beyond Bollywood, in Chicago summer 2017. As one of the Project Managers, my role was to copy-edit transcriptions, time-code, write summaries, and archive the resulting documents.

Archive and resulting materials in progress.
